Tasting notes Valdelosfrailes Pago de las Costanas
SightIntense and bright maroon colour with purplish reflections. Clean wine with a very high robe. Elegant tears.NoseIntense, clean and complex aromas. Its notes of ripe black fruit get mixed with emerging notes of exotic spices with and some touches provided by the wood. When it opens up, the complex notes of fruit become stewed and get a touch of liquor. Many more spices are also released along with pleasant cocoa hints, tobacco, roasted coffee grains and creamy hints of oak on a subtle mineral background.TasteA pleasure of a wine! A wine from Cigales with a very wide and bulky attack in which it coats the mouth with the same feelings found in the nose but tastier and with a higher expressivity. It has a silky and elegant mid palate, a structured body and a great balance. Perfect acidity and sweet ripe tannins. Long and persistent finish with very pleasant sensations.
This Denomination of Origin Cigales extends on both sides of the river Pisuerga, in the northern sector of the Duero Depression, eleven municipalities in the province of Valladolid, north of the capital, and the owner's province of Palencia. The region, terrain and limited by the Cervalos and Torozos mounts, has a length of 30 km and 15 wide. His vineyard is grown on soils formed from Tertiary and Quaternary sediments, sand, limestone, gypsum with untroubled on clay loam and gravel. The weather is consistent with a continental climate with Atlantic influence of large temperature fluctuations, irregular rainfall, and strong summer drought. Winters are raw and prolonged.
La Bodega Valdelosfrailes is located in the municipality of Valladolid de Santa Marta Cubillas and belong to the emerging Cigales Appellation of Origin, as red wines are concerned.
