Features

La Grande Dame is the Prestige Cuvée de la Maison Veuve Clicquot. It is a wine with a unique elegance that comes from the "assemblage" of 8 Grands Crus. The 1998 vintage was exceptional, never before achieved such perfect balance between ripeness and freshness. The crop conditions were excellent, the weather warm and dry weather, which contrasted with a winter cold and frost of May. Their strength and structure are based on the dominant presence of Pinot Noir (64%) harvested in the best vineyards in the mountains of Reims Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Aÿ. At this intensity is added freshness and delicacy of 36% Chardonnay from the most prestigious crus of the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger. La Grande Dame is always submitted to a long process of maturation: 6 years are necessary to enjoy a glass of champagne so exceptional.

Color

Golden color with green hues and subtle bubbles.

Nose

At first evokes fresh fruit (apricots, peaches, vines, citrus) and nuts (marzipan, hazelnut). After aeration reveals toasty notes, mild spices and brioche.

Flavour

On the palate, the texture is creamy and silky at the same time, with aromas of great intensity.
