The Petit Verdot is a variety of black grape used in wine production, mainly blended with Cabernet Sauvignon. The fact that matures much later than most other grape varieties prevent to grow successfully in many French regions, and is found only in the region of Bordeaux. Its main use is to bring the aroma, color, acid and tannin to many French wines, by adding no more than 10% of the total. Its aromas have been likened to banana chips and pencil. Get strong strong violet tones in the ripening process.
