D.O. working with this variety
Pedro Ximenez is the name of a type of Muscat grapes grown in several regions of Spain, particularly in the area Montilla-Moriles. Reportedly, the grape takes its name from a German mercenary third of Flanders, Peter Siemens, which brought some strains, with which German wine making, perhaps riesling. Although the story is apocryphal because none of the Rhine grape resembles the Pedro Ximenez and it is very difficult for a northern European strain, become acclimated to the climate of southern Spanish. It is a plant that needs lots of sun. It is sensitive to disease. Has clusters of medium size very compact. This grape produces high quality wines, fortified wines both dry and sweet.
