Originally from the Rioja and Navarra. It is a low yield grapes, so it is not very abundant, grown in the same vineyard with other varieties. It thrives in warm, arid climates. Very resistant to disease. The vine produces a low amount of delicately flavored berries are normally harvested in late October. The wines made with it are very much appreciated, by providing it with a deep red and high acidity. It provides greater longevity to the wines. The grape produces wine that is characterized by its deep red color, strong aroma and ability to age well.
