It is regarded as one of the most important varieties of Galicia, Pontevedra virtually dominate with 95.3%. Cambados, the historic capital of this wine in Spain, held every year on 1 August, the feast of Albariño. The aroma of this grape (very similar to Viognier) reminiscent of apricots. The Albariño is a white wine, a large, dry, very light and delicious straw-yellow color, bright with gold and green iridescence. Fruity, fine and distinguished. Its taste is fresh and soft, with enough body and alcohol content and balanced acidity. Their aftertaste is pleasant, elegant and complete. More preferably this grape is grown in the DO: Rias Baixas. Created in 1988, comprises those areas where traditionally since immemorial time, quality wines are produced in the province of Pontevedra. There are four well-separated areas: Val de Salnés, Condado do Tea, El Rosal and Sotomayor. There were 14 wineries in 1987, has now reached to 142, currently registered within the DO, it gives an idea of the wide market acceptance. Pairing: Ideal as an aperitif. Seafood in general and little flavored fish.
