Characteristics of Pardas Sumoll Rosat

Pardas Sumoll Rosat is a rose wine from the D.O Pendès region and produced by Celler Pardas. This wine is produced using only Sumoll (100%) grapes, grown on vineyards that lie in the south east at an altitude of around 401 metres. At no point in the production of this wine are herbicides, insecticides nor chemical products used. 


As for production, the grapes are firstly destemmed. Then, maceration takes place for 27.5 hours to extract the colour and following racking. Subsequently fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 18 ° C for 28 days.

Tasting notes Pardas Sumoll Rosat

Sight Intense raspberry colour with delicate violet reflections. Very bright wine. Nose Intense and complex aromas. A good range of vegetables, herbal notes (with powerful aromas of anise) and mineral nuances are displayed on an intense balsamic background. These aromas are mixed with oustanding hints of fresh red fruit and subtle citrus. Taste Tasty, dry, very fresh and bulky wine, with an amazing body. It has an unctuous palate full of expressive notes of fruit with balsamic, milky and herbal hints. Excellent acidity. Long and lingering finish, with a light touch of bitterness.
Sight Bright red and intense Sumoll own variety. Nose Great freshness, finesse and complexity with depth balsamic marinade. Marked vegetable component (licorice, mint and a pinch of fennel) and mineral. Lots of red fruit: pomegranates, strawberries, blackberries, cassis all wrapped in orange peel omnipresent. Taste Surprise your grand entrance, elegance, smoothness and durability. End feel bitter, dry, 100% Sumoll acid that cleans the mouth and invited to drink more.

Winery Pardas

The Control Board of this Designation of Origin was founded in 1960. At those times, the culture of wine started representing a very important economic power in the region of Penedes, a set of companies started to settle in the area, elaborating, producing and bottling their own properties' wine, which started to be marketed. This gave rise to the creation of the Designation of Origin Penedes. Its foundation simply meant the recognition of a very specific product, but also started guaranteing the quality of the products from an specific area. This Control Board has already inscribed five thousand and seven hundred winemakers, two hundred and seventy wineries, such as Celler Albet i Noya and one hundred and forty eight companies involved in the wine ageing and export. This implies an annual production of between one million and a half to two million of wine hectoliters. The Designation of Origin ensures some specific grape varieties, such as the Cabernet Sauvignon. In order to produce a specific kind of wine, according to some elaboration protocols and from vineyards voluntarily located within the region, the wine cannot be made out of any other variety. All this regulations resulted in a wine that consumers recognize as Penedès wine, protected by the Control Board of the Designation of Origin, which guarantees a certain quality.
