Characteristics of Naverán Perles Roses

Naverán Perles Roses is a pink cava produced by the Naverán winery in Cava. The winery is located in Torrelavit, in the centre of Alt Penedès.

Naverán Perles Roses is made from 100% Pinot Noir. The grapes come from vineyards in the estate of Can Parellada, at 110 hectares, it is one of the largest in the Alt Penedès.

Developing Naverán Perles Roses begins with a harvest in early August in wooden boxes. Once in the winery, the grapes are pressed softly and fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature.

Later, after the pressing, a second fermentation takes place using the typical "champagne method" (a method of making sparkling wine in the style of the Champagne region).

Finally, after aging for two years Naverán Perles Roses it is ready to be enjoyed. It is noteworthy, finally, that the 2010 vintage of Naverán Perles Roses was recognized by Robert Parker, the Wine Advocate, as the best Spanish rosé cava of the year.

Tasting notes Naverán Perles Roses

Sight Pale pink with bright reflections. Small bubble, uniform and constant ascension. Nose Medium to high intensity. Aromas of red fruit with touches of citrus and herbal notes. Taste Cool, nice and enveloping. Unctuous step. Good structure, excellent acidity. Long aftertaste.
Sight Pale pink or onion skin colour and small and uniform, constant-rise bubbles. Nose It shows pleasant aromas of medium-high intensity reminiscent of forest berries, with some hints of citrus, herbs and nuts. Taste A wine with a highly voluminous attack and a fresh and light, very delicate mid palate with a good structure. Great acidity and integrated fizziness.

The notes of red fruit are released along with creamy notes and touches of nuts and subtle herbs. Taste Very elegant and very fine cava. Very fresh and dry cava, with tasty notes of red fruit intermingled with notes provided during the ageing (nuts and yeast). It has a creamy texture, an excellent acidity and a nicely integrated fizziness. Very long finish.
Sight Onion skin colour, with small pink pearls that slowly form a string. Fine bubbles.
Nose Refined and elegant aromas. Aromas of small red fruit accompanied by lactic notes and nuts.
Taste Tasty and fresh rosé cava. Aromas of fruit, nuts and hints of yeast. Nice mid palate and well-integrated carbonic. Good acidity.
The palate is dry, full and creamy, with an elegant and very long aftertaste.

Winery Naverán

Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
