Characteristics of Mestres Visol Gran Reserva Brut Nature

Cava made of reserva wines from old Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada wines of over 50 years old. Ageing on lees of the base wine for six months in barrels. All the second fermentation in the bottle is carried out with a cork and lasts 50 months. Manual disgorgement of all the bottles one by one in order to obtain the highest expression of the cava. In order to emphasize the aromas, it is recommended aerating for five minutes and one minute in the glass.

Tasting notes Mestres Visol Gran Reserva Brut Nature

Sight Yellow straw with lemon reflexes. Pearl and so agile. Nose Aromas with a sweet background of mothers (pastry), roasted creamy, citrus confit, fresh quince, balsamic ... Taste Flavor is structured, long and oily, but the long aging preserves a pleasant freshness. Recover in the post-flavor notes of brioche, roasted, balsamic (licorice), Citrus ... making it very pleasant to the palate.

Winery Mestres

Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
