Characteristics of Mas Oller Pur

Mas Oller Pur is a red wine produced by the winery Mas Oller, located in a territory which joins the sea and the mountain, very marked by the presence of the Northern wine, la Tramontana, and where there is a great diversity of soils: clayey, sandy and slaty soils. Currently, the estate owns 15 hectares of productive vineyards and 2 hectares of new cultivated field. The Mas Oller's philosophy is based on the recovery of the vine-producing tradition of the area of Empordà with a modern interpretation of the concept of wine.
This wine from the D.O. Empordà is made of Syrah, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from 10-year-old vines grown at 80-100 metres above sea level. The maceration is conducted in cold in order to obtain the utmost aromatic and colour expression. Finally, it is aged for 3 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting notes Mas Oller Pur

Sight Intense and bright aubergine colour. Nose In the nose, it is powerful, clear and clean. Primary notes of the fruit predominate along with blackberries, black ink, green coffee beans, toasted hints and touches of vanilla. Taste In the mouth, it is concentrated and round, with soft and refreshing tannins. It has a soft-mid palate and a long finish.
Sight Dark and deep cherry red colour with violet edges. Clean, bright and dense wine with abundant regular tears. Nose High aromatic intensity with notes reminiscent of ripe black fruit, light toasted aromas and vanilla, released along with some balsamic and mineral hints. Taste A concentrated, fruity and fleshy wine with a good and bulky attack. It is a medium-high bodied red wine with a very good structure which provides a smooth and silky mid palate. Well integrated tannins. Long and persistent finish.
Sight Very dark cherry colour, almost black. Nose Many flavours of both red and black fresh fruit and jam. Small nuances of its short ageing in wood (toasted and vanilla) and light mineral touches. Hints of green coffee beans are also noticed.
Taste Concentrated and round Red wine from Empordà. Good attack, with a soft, rich and fruity mid palate. Ripe and soft tannins. Good acidity that provides it with freshness. Long finish.
Sight Color very cherry layer. Nose In the nose are very ripe plum, blackberry very ripe, almost jam, we notice little nuances of wood that are reaffirmed in the mouth then, the short step that has been in French oak. Taste In the mouth has very good step in the mouth at the same time is a structured and elegant wine.

Winery Mas Oller

The landscape of the region of Empordà, located in the northeast of Catalonia, is full of contrasts, due to the natural limits of the Pyrenees in the north and the Mediterranean Sea and magnificent Costa Brava in the east. Thanks to these, the Empordà is a unique place, a special territory between the sea and the mountains, marked by the presence of the north wind known as Tramontana.
