Characteristics of Conde de Haro Brut Rosé

Conde de Haro Rosé is a cava from D.O. Rioja produced by Bodegas Muga, one of the most emblematic wineries in Haro and one of the few Spanish wineries with its own cooperage.
The climate of this area in D.O. Rioja is very complex and there are influences from Mediterranean climates such as Atlantic and continental.  
This cava is a single variety Grenache (100%) grown in their own vineyards in the winery situated on high north facing sloped areas.
One of the reasons they chose this location and position of the vines, was to protect the vines from warm temperatures that can alter the characteristic aromas of the grapes.
The harvest is placed in 15kg crates.
After the selection of the bunches, there is a direct pressing. The must is placed in 1000 litre deposits where it undergoes its fermentation at 14 degrees.
Conde de Haro Rosé rests for 4 months on its lees, before the tirage. Finally, they rest in rhyme for a minimum of 14 months at a low temperature.

Tasting notes Conde de Haro Brut Rosé

Sight Soft salmon colour. Fine, persistent and elegant bubbles. Nose On the nose it is fresh and complex. There are tropical fruit aromas, citrus that accompanies the riper fruit aromas (peach or quince) Taste On the palate it is pleasant. You can appreciate the elegance and complexity. It presents a fresh acidity. Persistent finish.

Winery Muga

Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
