New wines April at Decantalo

Since it’s become a tradition, we didn’t want to say goodbye to the month of March without showing you some of the new wines we’ve added to our wide selection in the past few weeks, which are available to buy on Decantalo.

Out of dozens of new vintages and new wines introduced, we have chosen ten for various reasons, and we think they each deserve a special mention.

Yaso 2012. We’re delighted to announce the arrival of Yaso 2012 to Decantalo, a wine that we suspect will make it to our top sales. This wine is Iberian Wines’ (Grupo Osborne) endeavor in the DO Toro. Intense, enjoyable and balanced. A 100% Tinta de Toro with nothing less than 93 Parker Points under its arm, for only €10.50!

Macizo 2012. The new vintage of the great Benjamin Romeo’s (Bodega Contador) project in the macizo del Garraf (Barcelona). Macizo 2012 is a full-bodied, lively blend of Xarel·lo, Malvasía, White Grenache and Chardonnay. A DO Cataluña wine to keep your eye on.

La Montesa 2011. After the brilliant success of La Montesa 2010 (93 Parker Points), the new vintage 2011 of this Rioja wine made by Palacios Remondo winery comes onto the market with the challenge of upholding the high quality of its previous vintages.

Plaer 2011. We’re very excited about having this treat in our selection, as well as all of our other wines by Celler Ritme, which is the Priorat extension of the successful Acústic Celler in the DO Montsant. This wine reflects the pure essence of the terroir.

Come queso y bebe vino 2012. We couldn’t leave out the wines from the Bienbebido colection, Vintae’s new project that aims to find the best wine pairings for Spain’s most typical foods. We want to mention Come queso y bebe vino 2012 in particular, one of the project’s wines that we like the most. This collection boasts a very creative concept, with a striking design, and is incredibly good value. What more can you ask for?

Petit Siós 2012. The XII Bacchus International Wine Competition 2014, which took place a couple of weeks ago, has generated a surprise that we just have to mention in our portfolio of wines. Petit Siós 2012, which won a Bacchus Gold Medal, is a red wine from the Designation of Origen Costers del Segre. It is fresh, honest and lively. An intelligent purchase.

Carchelo Altico 2012. Another wine added to our website following its excellent performance at Bacchus 2014. Carchelo Altico 2012 is a tasty and full-bodied Jumilla Syrah. With a Bacchus Gold Medal, this wine is more than recommendable.

Ekam 2013. This is the new vintage of without a doubt one of our favourite whites. We’re talking about Ekam 2013, a blend of Riesling and albariño made by Raúl Bobet in Lérida, at the foot of the Pyrenees. What makes this vintage different from previous vintages is that the small percentage of grapes with botrytis haven’t been added in. One of the most typical Spanish wines, with a very “European” character. Good ageing capacity.

Spanish White Guerrilla Chardonnay 2012. Yes again we’re choosing this wine (the Chardonnay we enjoyed especially) to introduce you to a whole collection, once again guaranteed by the Vintae signature. On this occasion we’re talking about the Spanish White Guerilla collection, a collection of seven white single-varietals made in the VT Valles del Sadacia (La Rioja). An area which, until now, had never seen these varieties before. Verdejos, albariños, viogners and Rieslings made in La Rioja? Yes you heard it right! A very interesting collection.

Pétalos del Bierzo 2012. And we couldn’t finish without mentioning the arrival onto the market of one of last year’s success stories. Pétalos del Bierzo 2012 promises the same sensations as the previous vintage, which was considered the best wine in all of Spain by Robert Parker himself. A delightful Mencía.

We hope this selection meets your tastes. See you next time!
