May news at Decantalo

With the arrival of the new month, we wanted to take the opportunity to introduce you to the new wines we’ve added to our selection in recent weeks, which are now available to buy on our website.

Among the new vintages and new wines introduced over the course of the last 30 days, we’ve picked ten wines for different reasons that we think deserve special attention. Enjoy!

ÀN/2 2012. It’s not very surprising to anyone that we’re declaring ourselves fans of wine from the Balaeric Islands, so upon the arrival onto the market of the new vintage of ÁN/2, we just had to include this fantastic wine in our selection (and open a bottle, of course). Both rustic and noble. Fresh and mature. A pleasure.

Finca La Emperatriz Reserva 2007.  We welcome one of our great “historical debts” to Decantalo. Because although it seems hard to believe, this is the first vintage of Finca La Emperatriz Reserva found on our website. One of the best value Rioja reservas available on the market. 93 Parker Points for only €12.95! As the saying goes: “It’s never too late if it’s good”.

Artadi Viña El Pisón 2011. El Pisón was one of the first single-estate wines in Spain. Since then, this special wine has become one of the most famous wines in the world. The new vintage of Artadi Viña el Pisón, a wine that is out of this world.

La Cueva del Monge Blanco Fermentado en Barrica 2011. Say hello to the new vintage of this delicate, aged White wine by the winery Vinícola Real. A blend of viura and malvasía with a small amount of White grenache and moscatel. A fresh and lively 2011 like few others. Amazing.

Señorío de los Baldíos Crianza 2009. We now travel to the Ribera del Duero. The occasion certainly calls for it, because this wine is surely going to be one of the big hits of the year. Señorío de los Baldíos Crianza is a balanced and round 100% Tinta del País wine that is definitely worth discovering. 93 Parker Points for only €10.50. What a profile!

Les Terrasses Velles Vinyes 2012. Welcome to the new vintage of Les Terrasses, the “middle brother” of the family of wines made by Álvaro Palacios. Like always, this wine is full of elegance and balance. A magnificent option to discover the true Priorat.

Vega Sicília Único 2004. The new vintage of Único has already arrived, the standard bearer of perhaps the best Spanish winery of all time: Vega Sicilia. Like all wines by Vega Sicilia, we find ourselves before a wine designed to last, whether it be in time, or in the mind of those who are lucky enough to taste it. Don’t be fooled by its vintage, it’s still a baby. This wine has a long life ahead of it.

Naia 2013. The new vintage of this fun verdejo from the DO Rueda is already in our warehouse. A white wine that, underneath its casual appearance, reveals complexity and nuances. One of the most expressive Rueda wines that we’ve tried lately.

Heredad X 2012. We now share with you one of our discoveries at the last Feria Alimentaria event: Heredad X, by the oenologist Jorge Navascués. A heady Grenache from the D.O. Cariñena.

Louro 2013. We bid farewell to this selection of new wines by travelling to the DO Valdeorras, where Rafael Palacios unites the Godello and Treixadura varieties to give us Louro. A simply wonderful white wine. Not to be missed.
