June Arrivals of the Month

Yet again we’re welcoming in the new month by recapping on some of the new wines added to our broad selection in recent weeks, all available to buy right now on our website.

Among all the new vintages and new wines introduced in May, we recommend you try these ten wines before they go. Enjoy!

Viña Ardanza 2005. It would be impossible not to mention the arrival onto the market of Viña Ardanza’s new vintage. The Wine Spectator chose its previous vintage as the best value wine in Spain. Viña Ardanza 2005 offers everything you’d expect (and much more) from a Rioja with a long ageing period. A treat for the senses

Loxarel Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2006. As our winery of the month for May, we took the chance to broaden our Loxarel portfolio with some surprising new cavas, like this Brut Nature 2006. A fine and very elegant sparkling wine aged for 42-44 months. A bargain when you consider its price: €13.30

Alceño 12 Meses 2011. We welcome to Decantalo this blend of monastrell and syrah by Bodegas Alceño, the first comerical winery in the DO Jumilla. Alceño 12 Meses 2011 will surprise and impress even the pickiest of customers. A great find!

Jean Leon Viña La Scala 2003. This wine tells the exciting story of Jean Leon, a Spaniard who made it big in Hollywood because of his love of gastronomy. La Scala was the name of his restaurant, the meeting point for celebrities such as Marylin Monroe (the star on the bottle) in the Golden Age of Hollywood. A very Spanish Cabernet Sauvignon. Delightful with plenty of life ahead.

Montecastro 2009. We travel to the Ribera del Duero to introduce another new addition to our website. Montecastro 2009 is a very fresh, intense and penetrating 100% tinta fina wine, with an enveloping sensation on the palate. Classic yet modern. A true reflection of Ribera del Duero wines.

4 Kilos 2012. From the island of Mallorca we celebrate the arrival of 4 Kilos’ new vintage, the flagship wine from the winery of the same name. This wine is one of the wines responsible for the explosion of internation fame on wines from the Balearic Islands. 4 Kilos 2012 unites power and subtlety. Fruit and minerals. Terroir and authenticity. A great wine.

Paco & Lola 2013. The new vintage of one of the most sought-after Rías Baixas white wines in recent years. A 100% albariño, which stands out for its freshness and expressivity.

Pago de los Capellanes Roble 2013. It’s time to welcome another top new wine: Pago de los Capellanes Joven Roble 2013. Pago de los Capellanes’ baby is, as always, an agile and easy to drink wine, with the fruit taking centre stage. A very interesting wine.

Altos Ibéricos 2011. May saw the debut of Bodegas Torres’ new Rioja wine: Altos Ibéricos 2011. A fresh, fine and elegant Rioja, very easy to pair with and to drink. Prospects of becoming a “must have” wine in wine bars across Spain. No arguments needed.

Vinomi 2013. We close June’s selection with another new wine. This time we’re talking about a blend of white and red xarel·lo from the Penedés made by the winery Can Descregut, following biodynamic guidelines. Tropical fruit notes from the red xarel·lo grapes surprise us in the nose. 100% recommendable!
