New Wines for September 2016

September, back to school, to work… and back to normal :(
For this reason, this month we have chosen some new specials: wines that recharge batteries.

Bernabé Navarro Acequión 2015: La Mata Natural Park is the source of inspiration for Bernabé Navarro when making his white wines. This ancestral comes from a very old vineyard in Moscatel de Alejandría located very close to the Mediterranean Sea. Fermented in clay pots with the skins, it is bottled before finishing fermentation in order to create bubbles inside the bottle. This is a sparkling wine that should be opened a little while before drinking to let it breathe, to allow it to start painting the landscape in which it has been produced, the salt lakes of La Mata and its flora.

Nosso 2015A wine produced by Menade, a large production winery that, with this type of wine, tries to provide a sense of the territory. It comes from a vineyard with old vines from Verdejo, planted in bush vines and cultivated in an organic way. It is harvested manually and produced without adding sulphur. A little oasis inside Rueda.

La Maca 2015: A new wine that has been launched into the Gramona market. It is made from 100% Macabeu grapes from cultivated vines following biodynamic precepts. The wine-making has also been focused in order to make the grape the protagonist; amphoras and old wood combine in the process to make a simultaneously broad and fresh wine.

Pardas Sumoll Rosat 2015Since the beginning, Ramón has been producing some spectacular rosés with the native variety Sumoll. This vintage doesn’t disappoint and we predict a long life, a long-standing wine, ready to cause trouble for many years.

Manos Negras 2015Samsara Wines is a project founded by four young people in the Malaga mountains, in order to be specifically in Ronda. They produce light and fresh wines from ecologically cultivated vineyards. This wine is produced with Tempranillo and Merlot grapes with a little time spent in old barrels to stabilise the wine. It is a small production with a lot of sensitivity and a superb price.

Dominio del Urogallo La Fanfarria 2015This is a project located in Vt Cangas, bordering the extreme climates to produce a good quality red grape. It is in the Asturian countryside, with the vineyards on high mountains. It uses native varieties like Albarín and Mencía grown on quartz and slate soil and cultivated with respect for the environment. An Atlantic wine enthusiastic for you to enjoy drinking it.

Xérico 2015A new vintage of Roberto Olivan’s most refreshing wine, a wine reinvented from a past time. The varieties Tempranillo and Viura are fermented in cement tanks and aged in 500 litre barrels for 6 months to refine the wine. A Rioja with a different profile to what can be found on the market, friendly from its youth.

Colosía Solera Familar Palo CortadoTo finish, we present a jewel of patience, from the Palomino grape aged in a unhurried fashion for more than 50 years in the wineries belonging to the Gutiérrez Colosía family. A fortified wine that has seen many changes in the world surrounding it. Thousands of aromas, tastes and an exceedingly endless finish that force you to take little sips.
