Artadi Pagos Viejos. There’s no need to be a blue-blood to have class!

At Decántalo, we’re excited to be offering you our new products: Pagos Viejos, by Bodega Artadi, directly arrived from the heart of the Rioja Alavesa Región at an exceptional price. And, since talking on Artadi is essentially talking on the differences between vintages, in our website we want to invite you to a trip in time through Pagos Viejos and the wines resulting from each of its vintages.

Although all of them are made according to the winery’s tradition, each of them is unique. Pagos Viejos 1999, a highly mature wine, soft and polished but without the usual powerness shown by Artadi’s wines, contrasts with Pagos Viejos 2005, a vintage which is also mature, but shows a fresh and tanic palate, quite silky at the same time.

On its side, Pagos Viejos 2006, a warm vintage with a powerful palate and strong tannins, contrasts with Pagos Viejos 2007, a cold vintage with a retarded harvest, which shows a soft, fruity and floral nose, but a powerful palate marked by its acidity and a highly lingering mineral finish.

We cannot go over the excellence of Pagos Viejos 2001, which shows a great balance and a high elegance provided by its long ageing.

At Decántalo, we are glad to be able to offer you the opportunity to enjoy the nuances of each of these wines and taste this pleasure with Designation of Origen Rioja, sip by sip.

Hope you enjoy them!
