Augustus Rosé is a rosé from the Penedès produced by the Augustus Forum winery. This is a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon.

After careful harvesting, the grapes for Augustus Rosé go through a process of stripping.

Augustus Rosé subsequently undergoes a maceration for 12 hours at a constant temperature of 8 degrees.

Augustus Rosé finally undergoes a fermentation at 16 ° for about two weeks.

Augustus Forum's name is inspired by the position in which the winery is located, in what was the Via Augusta, which connected Rome with other European cities.

Tasting notes Augustus Rosé

Sight Garnet red with violet hues. Nose Floral and fruity aromas. Taste Elegant and easy to drink, floral, fruity and with body.
Sight Strong ruby â??â??red colour with violet edges. Clean and bright. Nose Red fruit is released at its best. Its subtle hints of spices and a very light herbal touches round out the intense aromas of this wine. Taste Powerful rosé wine from Penedès, with a wide attack and a very tasty and unctuous mid palate. It has a good structure and a correct acidity. Good and long finish, with a medium persistence. An elegant and very pleasant wine.

Winery Augustus Forum

The Control Board of this Designation of Origin was founded in 1960. At those times, the culture of wine started representing a very important economic power in the region of Penedes, a set of companies started to settle in the area, elaborating, producing and bottling their own properties' wine, which started to be marketed. This gave rise to the creation of the Designation of Origin Penedes. Its foundation simply meant the recognition of a very specific product, but also started guaranteing the quality of the products from an specific area. This Control Board has already inscribed five thousand and seven hundred winemakers, two hundred and seventy wineries, such as Celler Albet i Noya and one hundred and forty eight companies involved in the wine ageing and export. This implies an annual production of between one million and a half to two million of wine hectoliters. The Designation of Origin ensures some specific grape varieties, such as the Cabernet Sauvignon. In order to produce a specific kind of wine, according to some elaboration protocols and from vineyards voluntarily located within the region, the wine cannot be made out of any other variety. All this regulations resulted in a wine that consumers recognize as Penedès wine, protected by the Control Board of the Designation of Origin, which guarantees a certain quality.
