Characteristics of Albet i Noya Curiós Xarel·lo

Albet i Noya Classic Xarel·lo is a white wine from Penedès prepared by the Albert y Noya cellar. This winery, located in Can Vendrell (Tarragona), was one of the first Spanish wineries to carry out organic winemaking processes.

Since 1972, Albert y Noya has produced organic wines with no added chemicals and very low sulphur levels.

Albet i Noya Classic Xarel·lo is 100% made from the Xaralel·lo variety. The grapes come from old vines planted 30 years ago on limestone-clay soils with little organic matter.

In terms of development, both the harvest and the selection are made by hand. Once in the winery, one maceration and fermentation occurs for 19 days at a controlled temperature of 16 ° C to preserve the primary flavours.

Finally, before bottling, Albet i Noya Classic Xarel·lo is slightly clarified and filtered.

Sight Pale yellow colour, clean and brilliant. Nose Great aromatic expression. Presence of white fruit, citrus, intense florals such as jasmine and orange blossom. Taste Lightweight, soft and tasty, lively acidity and structure.
Sight Light yellow colour. Clean and bright. Nose It is a wine that has a great aromatic intensity of white fruit, fruit with pit, citrus fruits and intense floral aromas of jasmine and orange-blossom. Taste In the mouth, it is a light, soft and tasty wine. Its acidity keeps this wine glossy.
Sight Pale, clean and bright yellow colour. Nose This wine shows a wide range of aromas, aromas of white fruit, stone fruit, citrus fruit, intense floral notes, jasmin and orange blossom. Taste This wine has a strong character of the variety, Xarel•lo, a variety local to the Penedés. On the palate it is light, smooth and tasty. With a central axis present from start to finish - a lively acidity.
Sight Very bright, almost crystalline, clean pale yellow with waxen edges. Nose Great aromatic balance. An explosion of white and stone fruits is displayed along with abundant citrus notes mixed with some intense floral aromas and outstanding notes of white flower. Fresh and subtle herbal background. Taste A wine with a light, smooth and tasty mid palate with a strong varietal character. Very balanced and very fresh. It has a nice finish, which leaves a fresh and herbal very nice aftertaste.
Sight Pale straw yellow with waxen edges. Very bright and clean. Nose Good aromatic intensity with a significant varietal character. The notes of white fruit (pear and green apple) and ripe citrus are noticed along with intense floral aromas (orange blossom, almond blossom). Elegant herbaceous background. Taste Tasty and fruity varietal wine, with a very refreshing acidity. Good finish with hints of aniseed.

Winery Albet i Noya

Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, as well as those that demostrate instrisic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used!  But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from the Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, there is one common denominator of the wines from Penedès, and that’s balance and quality.
