Characteristics of Agustí Torelló Mata Gran Reserva Barrica Brut Nature

Este cava nace fruto del coupage de tres vinos de Macabeo procedentes de diferentes viñedos y elaborados de manera diferente. Se vinifican por separado. Una parte, fermenta en barricas nuevas de roble francés y hacen una crianza en las mismas barricas durante seis meses. Otra parte fermenta en depósitos de acero inoxidable durante 31 días a 16ºC. La tercera parte proviene de una vendimia temprana que se utiliza para equilibrar el coupage.

Tasting notes Agustí Torelló Mata Gran Reserva Barrica Brut Nature

Sight Pale straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. Thin and abundant bubbles, good formation of the tears and dense crown. Nose Intense nasal aromas with fruity notes of green apple, mixed with fine balsamic, spiced and toasted hints provided during its ageing in barrels. Taste In the mouth, it is a dry and glyceride cava at the same time, with dense and cremy foam. The freshness of the fruit stands over the toasted background and the vanilla hints.

Winery Agustí Torelló Mata

Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
